Cardio Barre featured in the L.A. Business Journal

Cardio Barre was recently featured in a great story in the L.A. Business Journal entitled “Bellying Up to the Bar: Ballet Based Exercise Franchise blossoms with Hollywood site.” The article discusses how the Cardio Barre brand has boomed in L.A. including its newest opening in Hollywood by Denise Cohen. Professional dancer and choreographer Richard Giorla developed Cardio Barre, a high-energy, no-impact exercise routine, after an injury that prevented him from continuing his career.

Soon after, Giorla opened his first Cardio Barre space in Studio City. That was nearly a decade ago, and he quickly gained a following among workout fanatics and Hollywood stars.

Thanks to his success there, Giorla began franchising the Cardio Barre concept three years ago; the newest Cardio Barre studio, the fifth franchise, opened in Hollywood earlier this month. (Read More)

How’s this for an alternative to the typical social networking scene?

Sweat and stretch together, and line up some business prospects along the way.

That’s the message from the founder and chief executive officer of Cardio Barre, a growing chain of fitness studios that wants to set up shop in Sacramento.

Richard Giorla, a former professional dancer who launched Cardio Barre after suffering an injury, says his studios are great for social networking among businesswomen. He singles out women because his studios attract mostly women, from age 14 to 70, who love dance and fitness. (Read More)
